Photographer Assignment

For this assignment, we had to choose a famous photographer and mimic his style. I choose Steve McCurry, the photographer who took the famous picture of the "Afghan girl" in the National Geographic. I loved the way that he used the eyes of the girl as the main focus of his picture, as I think eyes are extremely powerful. That glare that the girl is giving, knocks me off my feet. It shows fear and anger all tied up into one expression. My seven year old sister is the model, enjoy (:

Portrait!

This is my gorgeous friend that I decided to take a portrait of! I love the contrast of her beautiful bright pink coat with the un-colorful but textured background (:

Around School....

My school is pretty cool, it's got so many colorful fabulous things to take pictures of! Ashley, Cole and I were walking around one day and discovered that if you close enough, everything is photo-worthy (:

We had a blast taking more "professional pictures" in the TV studio at our school today! Sierra (follow her blog: Adventuring!) Most of these pictures have to do with shadows and playing with different lighting sequences. When playing with the effects for these pictures, I usually like color, but I decided to change things up a bit and go for more black and white tones as I figured they would work better with the shadows. My favorites would have to be #7 because I feel like the hand-heart shadow is powerful and tells a story and #5 because it has so much going on in the image that it's thought provoking. Enjoy :]

Valentines Day!

Happy V-day lovies ♥

My friend and I found this in a candy conversation hearts box and thought they were hilarious! We laughed at the "new age" hearts :)
